Nibley Park 3rd graders listen intently to why Sugar House Rotary are visiting. Happiness is time out of class with visitors! Hal Weight, Literacy Chair & former educator, shows kids a copy of the dictionary they will all receive Hal Weight - Literacy Chair, Susan Marks - PR Chair, Jeff Taylor - our newest member, and Earl Jones - Club orator & poet, listen as Hal demonstrates his control of a large group of energetic 3rd graders. All is calm as Earl Jones tells the 3rd grade about the importance of literacy, reading and education. FYI - Earl and his 2 successful children attended Nibley Park (and a certain Senator we know).
Susan Marks hands out dictionaries to the kids. A student receiving her very own dictionary. Girls chit chatting about the many benefits of using their new dictionaries. Boys figuring out other uses for their new dictionaries. On what page is the word
Where did he say the longest word is? Quiet contemplation of new words. Me! Me! Eager student can't wait to speak. Participating in dictionary distributions is way fun!
